WELCOME to AFSCME Local 645's Webpage!
Local 645 represents Milwaukee County workers in a variety of job titles which require a 4 year college degree and beyond. We are the professionals and para-professionals of the County system working everyday to provide top level services to our community as Human Service Workers, Account and Fiscal Analysts, Psychiatric Social Workers, Emergency Service Clinicians, Paralegals, Juvenile Probation Officers and a variety of other job titles which designate us as those employees who serve our communities most vulnerable members: our children, our physically and mentally challenged and our elderly. We are the heartbeat of Milwaukee County!
AFSCME WEB SITES
Please take the time to check out the AFSCME International, AFSCME PEOPLE and AFSCME District COUNCIL 48 web sites. You will find numerous articles on these sites that directly relate to what we have gone through in recent months, what we are going through and what faces us in the future as Milwaukee County Employees and as public sector workers. The PEOPLE site will let you know what is happening in the political arena in Wisconsin and around the country. The International site sports a Senate and Congressional scorecard which will let you know how elected officials around the Country and here in Wisconsin have voted on the issues that affect public employees and their families. The AFSCME 48 web site lists local officials, state legislators and their contact information.
Check out the links on the AFSCME 48 webpage. They’ll take you on a union adventure from contacting your county board supervisor to “The solidarity site” to the “Wisconsin Labor History” site where you can learn the reason and sacrifice behind today’s union.
Do you know what's going on in Washington? No, do you really know?

Good and Welfare of 645 Members: Someone got married, is having a birthday, is sick or lost a loved one, someone’s husband, wife or child been sent overseas, someone’s child or partner win an award… Let us know.

Need help planning for retirement?
Retirement Party:
If you are retiring this year or you have retired since January 1, 2007, want to celebrate a friend’s retirement or just want to have fun, then consider attending a special retirement party conducted by Bob Johnston of MetLife Financial Services. Milwaukee County took away our 25 year watches and our retirement banquet under the guise of "fiscal responsibility". This celebration is Bob's way of giving back to our Union and is completely funded by him. Good food, great fun and lots of door prizes. Please support Bob in this effort and plan to attend. IT's free to AFSCME members!
The last banquet is planned for November 8, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Klemmer’s; RSVP by Oct. 29. Reservations are required; call 615-4892 to RSVP.
If you cannot attend, but would like a free, private financial consultation, contact Bob Johnston at 615-4912. You won't regret it.
